Finance - we are closing in on forecasting expenditures for the next year and should have a budget within a couple of weeks.  It appears that our cashflow is on a sustainable footing, and that projects that are being proposed are mostly self-funding (like POCAfest).  Donated funds for the first two CAP start-up loans are earmarked, and we have one pre-applicant for a loan (clinic planned for opening in the fall).  We are presently also looking for a punk (or preferably a couple of punks) to open a CAP in Birmingham, AL this year.  If you are interested in starting up this clinic please respond with your contact information and intentions to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

Inreach - continuing to work on closer cooperation among circles.  We have added a Traffic Manager position (volunteer) to help Karen and Carmen in POCA Admin, and to resolve ongoing operational issues.  Recently we are working out the nuts and bolts regarding upcoming elections, and making available more materials for the Circles to use in their work.

Outreach - will be taking over the newsletter as of NEXT time.  Work revolves around developing solid editorial and advertising guidelines for PR materials, advertising, newsletter formats - essentially creating a consistent “Voice of POCA” which carries our mission, aims and goals throughout all our materials and gets it in front of a wide audience of punks and patients, clinics and interested organizations.

Clinic Support - We are putting together our systems for helping clinics in distress, and actually providing guidance for some clinics at this time. As much as possible, clinics should have access to the support information for themselves, and we will be providing mentoring when their problems go beyond the available information.  Clinics seeking help should look here: https://www.pocacoop.com/forums/viewthread/2337/ and will be contacted by someone from Clinic Support as soon as possible.

Apprenticeship and Education - (Originally named Education and Events)  Mostly working on POCAfest right now (see details elsewhere in this newsletter).  We have pretty much determined the presenters and schedules for the CEU workshops, and are now working on ways to schedule Circle meetings during the weekend.

Regional Nodes Circle - Talking to possible Regional Node Leaders, determining the extent of regional boundaries, planning for development of CEU presentations at regional meetings (working with A&E Circle on this), developing and providing tools for clinics/punks in regions to work together for common good.

Website - Had a lot of challenges as the website came online, but we’re knocking them off one by one!  Practitioners/Students, Patients, and Clinics can now register/join online!  We are working on the ability of clinics to update their own information for Locate-a-Clinic listings, as well as adding more options to the LOC search function.  The Mighty CA Wiki, which takes the place of the revered “CA101”, is essentially complete, and any non-working links should be reported via the “Contact Us” link at the top of each page.  Watch for the store to come online soon.  That’s how you can sign up for POCAfest.  We thank you for your patience as the website continues to go through its birthing process!
