On February 1, 2012, all expired punks with expired CAN memberships will lose their online member benefits until they renew their membership.

Is your Punk Membership current?  Is your Practitioner Membership current?  Is your Student Membership current?  Would your CAN Membership still be current right now?

Help POCA update please!  In order to clean up the database:

On February 1, 2012, all expired punks with expired CAN memberships will lose their online member benefits until they renew their membership.

How will this affect you?  Access to the POCA forums, the Prick, Prod & Provoke Blog, and the Mighty CA Wiki is a privilege of Punk/Student Membership.  If you are not a Current Member who has joined CAN,  renewed your CAN membership, or joined POCA as an acupuncturist/student in the past calendar year, you will lose access.

Does this apply to me?  If you’ve ever joined CAN in the past, POCA has given you access to the POCA site until now.  (Just because you can read this blog doesn’t mean your membership is current.)  If your CAN membership would be current right now, then your punk POCA membership is current.  Your POCA punk expiration date is the same as your CAN membership expiration date would be.  If your CAN membership is expired, or you can’t remember when you last renewed, then you need to renew your POCA membership.  If you absolutely cannot find this information in your own records, you can email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

To renew your CAN member (and make it a POCA punk membership), please sign in to http://www.pocacoop.com  Use .your CAN username.  (If you’ve never signed in to the POCA site before, follow the procedure for forgotten password, even if you haven’t forgotten.)

Once you are logged in with your CAN username, on the home page (top right), you will see a red phrase saying “Want to renew your membership?”  Follow this link to renew your punk membership.

For extra credit, you can also edit your profile.  Sign in and click on your name in the top right corner.  This takes you to your control panel.  On the left is a menu.  Choose edit profile.  If you are a clinic owner, add your cilnic name under “Organization”.  (Then sign out of your punk account, sign in with your clinic account, and add your clinic profile with your full name where it says “Full Name”.)  Feel empowered!

[IMPORTANT:  Do not follow these instructions to purchase a clinic membership.  A clinic membership gives you access to the Employer Wiki and a listing on the LOC.  A punk membership gives you access to the Practitioner Forums, Prick, Prod & Provoke blog, and the Mighty CA Wiki.  Clinic Owners:  It is beneficial to have both a punk membership and a clinic membership.  To sign up for a clinic membership, you will need to first sign out of your punk member account.  You will need a unique username and email address for each account.]

Bonus!  In order to vote in POCA’s first election, scheduled for May 2012, you will need to be a member in good standing.

Please stay in the conversation.  A co-op is only as strong as its members.  We need your voice.  Please renew your punk/student membership before 2/1/12.

Thank you!
