Community Acupuncture Studio is looking to sell their Tacoma clinic

For years before we opened this location, people had been inquiring about CA in Tacoma, as the closest options were either driving to Seattle or Olympia.  In 2013 we had the opportunity to open this second location and start offering Community Acupuncture in Tacoma.  Since opening, it has been steadily growing, and our patients are wonderful and super grateful to have us as a resource in the community.  Many of them count on us for keeping them going, pain relief, or to simply come and catch an acu nap.

About the Tacoma clinic:
- It opened in August 2013 as a 2nd location
- 2,100 tx’s given in the past 12 months
- Currently open just 4 shifts/week, 20 hrs of needling, 1 acupuncturist (employee)
- 10 chairs in one large room, separate reception area
- Located on Antique Row in the Theater District of downtown, elevator and ADA restrooms, lease ends Oct. 31, 2016.
- New owner has option of negotiating new lease in same location or moving it to a new location
- 900+ patient contacts and files specific to the Tacoma location
- Electronic health records and online scheduling
- 2016 gross is a 41% increase to previous YTD, and growth each year has been similarly at 30-40%
- Sliding scale is $20-$40 for return visits or $40-$50 for new patients
- Sale will include all computer equipment, office supplies, sheets/blankets, and furniture currently being used in the space (asset list available on request).
- We’d like to see it continue operating as a Community Acupuncture clinic, keeping it affordable for our amazing and diverse patient base.

About Tacoma, WA;
- It’s the 3rd largest city in WA with population of roughly 200,000 people
- 19th most walkable city in the US
- Tacoma is about 35 miles south of Seattle, usually takes under an hour by car
- There are no other CA clinics in the greater Tacoma area, hence a HUGE need.
- Commuter trains, buses, and light rail all have terminals nearby
- Joint Base Lewis McChord is host to tens of thousands of servicemembers and their families
- Chihuly Glass Museum, Tacoma Art Museum, Washington State History Museum, Point Defiance Zoo, LeMay Car Museum, University of - Washington Campus, Broadway Center for Performing Arts, Brewery District, Tacoma Food Co-Op, the Historic Grand Cinema and Temple Theater, funky antique malls, indie book and comic stores, street festivals, farmers markets, and so much more
- In 2013, The Advocate voted Tacoma as the Gayest City in America, speaking to the diversity and acceptance they found while looking into the community
- Seattle writer Ben Anderson did a great job describing Tacoma in a piece he wrote:
“ The city has a strong sense of itself: a proud Second City divided but not balkanized, gritty but hospitable, off-kilter without pretense.  It’s a lived-in, comfortable place brimming with nuance and quirks, unlike any other in Puget Sound.”

This clinic is turnkey and ready to go for someone that is up for the task.  Current owner is willing to spend time with the new owner, training answering questions, and getting them up to speed.

Why are we selling?  While managing two clinic locations and working full-time in Olympia, it’s been difficult to give this practice the time and energy it deserves, and is demanding as it gets busier.  Hoping to find the right person the take the reins and allow this clinic to thrive.
