Sarana Community Acupuncture in East Bay, CA is looking for a punk (p/t, long term sub and more)

We are looking for an enthusiastic punk to help fill in during the summer June through August of 2019.

The shifts would be preferably on Monday and Saturday mornings, with a possibility of an additional Sunday afternoon shift. Other sub shifts are likely to be available as well through the summer and beyond.

Definite possibility of retaining the Sunday shift in the Fall of 2019 and adding more shift(s) for the right candidate.

Please apply even if you are interested in general subbing but cannot work on the preferred days.

We request no phone inquiries or unscheduled pop-in interviews, please, but feel free to schedule and come in to receive a free acupuncture treatment and briefly introduce yourself.

Qualifications we are looking for:

• Valid California acupuncture license
• Valid malpractice insurance that does not require arbitration forms
• Physical ability to work a fast-paced shift (3-4.5 hrs of needling plus open/close tasks)
• Easily reachable and responsive by phone and email
• Ability to learn basic computer functions essential for completing the work —Familiarity with online scheduling and Practice Fusion EHR and Quickbooks is a plus
• Compassion for people who are suffering and comfort with attending to a diverse population of clients, including: racial minorities, people with extremely difficult financial circumstances, LGBT folks, trauma survivors, people with disabilities, people with addictions
• Comfort with using meridian-based, distal-point acupuncture as your main practice modality and confidence in the effectiveness of simple, frequent acupuncture protocols
• Ability to communicate clearly, succinctly, and compassionately with patients and staff
• Self-motivation, good organizational skills, calmness and focus when multi-tasking
• Commitment to the collaborative spirit and openness to receiving and positively responding to feedback and correction
• Spanish (or other non-English) language skills are a plus
• POCA Membership, familiarity with “Acupuncture is Like Noodles” or “Fractal”, and having attended a CA101 Community Acupuncture workshop or a POCAfest are a plus

We have been open since 2008, and are a 501(c)3 non-profit, which allows our full-time employees to participate in the Federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. We currently have 5 staff acupuncturists and we have been growing.

Our clinic is run co-operatively by a Management Collaborative. We model our governance after POCA.
