Acupuncture Together is looking for a part-time community acupuncturist (“punk”) for 12-17 hours per week.  Are you a community acupuncture enthusiast who is excited about treating lots of wonderful patients?  We are a busy, established community acupuncture clinic (in operation since 2008) with a supportive group of co-workers looking for a great new punk to join our team.

Specifically, we are in need of someone to work Monday from 2:45-7:15 PM, plus your choice of 1, 2 or 3 of the following additional shifts:
Tuesday 8:30 AM -12:45 PM
Thursday 8:30 AM -12:45 PM
Saturday 11:45 AM - 3:00 PM
*Ability to occasionally sub other shift days/times is also needed.

To be considered for employment as an acupuncturist at Acupuncture Together, the applicant must:
• Have an active Massachusetts acupuncture license or be in the process of applying for one.
• Have acupuncture malpractice insurance to start.  Subsidized malpractice insurance is offered for Level 2 acupuncturists.
• Be willing and eager to adopt the style of treatment we utilize at Acupuncture Together (acupuncture only, distal point treatments required).

The ideal applicant will:
• Have a passion for community acupuncture, a love of people and a desire to treat large numbers of patients.
• Be positive, friendly, caring, and dependable.  Be willing to work hard.
• Have done some reading/learning about community acupuncture and understand the basics: you are a current or former member of POCA and/or have read community acupuncture books such as The Remedy, Acupuncture is Like Noodles and/or Fractal: About Community Acupuncture, and/or have attended a community acupuncture workshop or POCAfest and/or have experience working in another POCA community acupuncture clinic.
• Have some knowledge/skills in distal point combinations (Dr. Tan balance method and/or Master Tung points) in addition to TCM.
• Be able to treat patients quickly and stay focused and calm in a fast-paced environment.  New employees will start off treating 4 patients an hour with the goal of treating 6 per hour within three months.  Experienced acupuncturists will regularly treat 6-8 patients per hour, and will treat up to 10 patients per hour during peak hours.
• Being licensed and experienced to prepare and prescribe Chinese herbal medicine (patents/prepared products) is a plus, but not a requirement.

Pay structure and benefits:
• Paid training, hourly wages, CEU stipend and subsidized malpractice insurance will be provided.  This is an employee position (not independent contractor).  A formal job description with compensation details will be provided after you contact Justine.

If interested please email Justine Myers, Lic. Ac. and clinic owner, at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) with your resume and any information you feel would be pertinent for you to be taking on this position.  NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE.
Thanks for your consideration!
