We are looking to hire a part time punk beginning in August 2019. We are hiring substitute acupuncturists on an ongoing basis.

● Position Title: Community Acupuncturist

● Time Commitment: Starting with the two following shifts, Sun. 9 am to 2
pm, Mon. 2 to 7 pm. Possible opportunity to add Wed. 9 am to 2 pm.

● Training: 2-4 hours of shadowing and 2-4 hours of reviewing our systems
provided by OAP staff

● Reimbursement: starting at $15 per hour plus $7.50 per treatment over 10 in a
single shift. Average hourly pay rate ranges between $30 - $45 depending on
patient volume. Regular performance reviews with ongoing opportunities for pay

● Benefits available to committed employees in good standing: CEU stipend, paid
license renewal fees, malpractice insurance, paid time off, Kaiser medical and Simple IRA retirement plan.

Our two busy, successful clinics in Oakland have been operating for over 10 years. We have a 3rd clinic in Sacramento which opened in 2015. We are open 7 days a week and collectively see over 700 patients/week.

Who Are You?

● You love being very busy and you want to treat six patients an hour.
● You are a POCA (People’s Organization of Community Acupuncture) member.
● You have a clean and valid California acupuncture license.
● You communicate calmly and well with patients and co-workers.
● You have attention to detail, clean up, help out, are aware of your surroundings.
● You have healthy boundaries and know when to say ‘no’ to difficult patients.
● You look for and implement solutions, rather than complain.
● You LOVE community acupuncture and can tell us why.
● You are comfortable with the LGBTQ community and are body positive.
● If you have experience as a waitperson in a restaurant, let us know—it is helpful work
experience in community acupuncture!

Who Are We?

● We have a very low tolerance for shenanigans, but enthusiastically support diligent work
with as many benefits as we can possibly afford.
● We provide an opportunity to see many diverse patients while working in a fun and
supportive environment.
● While we value experienced punks, we are happy to train new practitioners.
● We start all our punks at a base hourly of $15/hour with a commission bonus of $7.50
per patient over 10 in a given shift. All of our shifts are 5 hours seeing up to 6 patients an
● We do not emphasize any specific style or method beyond doing what you think is really
awesome acupuncture, but not making a big deal about it.
● We expect our punks, after training and shadowing, to navigate our online scheduling,
online chart noting, and invisible receptionist.

If I didn’t love TACO so much, and want to live in Tucson, OH and I guess be able to get a CA license, I would TOTALLY want to. Can I teletransport there for my off days??
