Rochester Community Acupuncture is seeking to hire a part time acupuncturist.  We are a busy, established, woman-owned community acupuncture clinic in Rochester, NY, looking for a skilled acupuncturist who is excited about treating lots of patients using distal acupuncture in a community setting. We are serious about prioritizing access to acupuncture, about eliminating boundaries based on class, language, race, physical ability, size, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender and age.

We are in need of coverage for Saturdays from 9:00 – 2:00, as well as occasional substitute coverage of shifts as needed. More hours also available for the right practitioner.

To be considered for employment as an acupuncturist at Rochester Community Acupuncture, the applicant must:
• Have an active New York acupuncture license or be in the process of applying for one.
• Have acupuncture malpractice insurance.
• Be willing and eager to learn and adopt the style of treatment we use at RCA (acupuncture only, distal point treatments required, particularly Tan/Tung).
• Be a member of the People’s Organization of Community acupuncture.

The ideal applicant will:
• Have a passion for community acupuncture, a love of people and a desire to treat large numbers of patients.
• Be positive, friendly, caring, dependable, and hard working.
• Have done some learning about community acupuncture and understand the basics: you are a current or former member of POCA and/or have read community acupuncture books, and/or have attended a community acupuncture workshop or POCAfest and/or have experience working in another POCA community acupuncture clinic.
• Have some knowledge/skills in distal point combinations (Dr. Tan balance method and/or Master Tung points) in addition to TCM.
• Be able to treat patients quickly and stay focused and calm in a fast-paced environment.  New employees will start off treating 4-6 patients an hour with the goal of treating 6+ per hour within two months.  Experienced acupuncturists will eventually treat up to 10 patients per hour during peak hours.
Pay structure and benefits:
• Paid training, hourly wages, CEU stipend after 1 year, paid vacation time.  A formal job description with compensation details will be provided after you contact Janeane & Angela.

If interested please email Angela & Janeane, clinic owners, at naptimeforgrownups@gmail.com with your resume and any information you feel would be pertinent for you to be taking on this position.  NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE. Thanks for your consideration!
